Harness

The theme music of a maker's life, in ten movements.

A concept album I asked an AI to score from the story of how I actually work: a boy-ish hero's journey through building things. Every track was generated from a short written prompt, printed beneath it, and each carries its own record, a different public-domain painting for the mood. The name is a double meaning: the agent harness I run my life from, and the harness of someone setting out on a long road.

  1. Morning in the Hamlet

Before any of it, a quiet start. Curiosity in a small place, the world not yet large.

  2. The Call

The pull to build. Leaving the safe and known for the open road.

  3. Terminal Light

The maker's true home: a warm room, a dark screen, the cursor blinking past midnight.

  4. Fellowship

The companions who do the work beside me. The agents, the team, the ones who show up.

  5. The Demo That Lied

The thing that worked in the room and lied about the world. Hubris, then a wry smile.

  6. Monsters at Midnight

The bugs that fight back. The long battle in the dark, tense and strangely thrilling.

  7. Green

The small, absurd joy of a test going green and a merge finally landing.

  8. The Long Road

The middle of everything, where it is just the work and the walking. Keep going.

  9. Homecoming

The peaceful part of the journey. The view from the top, and it was earned.

  10. Now

Not an ending. The present, and the road still ahead.
