On April 7, 2026, Katalon launched the True Platform — a rebuild of our quality platform around the premise that the next generation of QA is agentic, not scripted. I've been leading the AI initiative behind this launch.

What shipped

Six AI-native capabilities, all threading through one orchestrator:

  • Kai — the agent that holds the user's intent across a session and routes work to the right capability.
  • AI Test Generator — generates test coverage from journeys, attachments, and real user behavior — not from static specs.
  • AI Test Runner — the skeptical executor. Built to find where the product breaks intent, not to "complete the steps."
  • AI Insights — surfaces quality signal that a dashboard can't (because a dashboard doesn't know why something is suspicious).
  • AI Briefing — a daily brief for quality leaders, synthesizing movement across test runs, bug reports, and customer tickets.
  • AI Bug Reporter — reduces the cost of filing a good bug report to near zero.

Why it matters

Most AI in QA today is "automation-plus" — the same workflow, but with a generator slapped on top. True Platform is a bet that the shape of QA is about to change entirely: intent over scripts, context over coverage, harness over model. If we're right, the companies that rethink the workflow — not just the tools — will lead.
